“ Copitas de Platano are a must for an appetizer, crunchy with creamy avocado filling. Our 1st time eating Colombian food and we were pleased with every part of the meal. The arepas do not disappoint, crispy on the outside with savory fillings and plenty of cheese. White sangria was fresh and clean with some depth of fruitiness. Outstanding service! ”
Ann Stone“ Gluten free everything!! And it’s amazing! I had the special and my DH had ceviche and an arepa. Chefs kiss. Great sauces. Nice chicarones and plantanos done the sweet way. Fresh everything. We also had drinks that tasted like the Andes Maracuya. SO so good. ”
Susan Weakley“ This place is incredible! I want to try everything lol. So I’ll be back. The service was amazing. And everything was fresh. The food takes a little long but it’s because it’s cooked fresh! Worth ever wait and every penny! I’ll come back every chance I get ”
Jessica A“ It's not every day that you get outstanding Colombian food, especially in a city known for French and Cajun food. Mais Arepas was a breath of fresh air for a dining experience. Great service, beautifully prepared dishes, and a tastebud South American festival!! From the Roasted Corn, to the Ceviche de Camaron and the Marinera Arepas, all fantastic. A great change for delicious food! ”
Gary Zolle Stone“ Proud Colombiana Was excited to try - Mais Arepas surpassed my expectations! Chill vibes and beautiful interior, our server was very nice. The Pollo Griliao arepa was amazing - chicken was juicy and loaded with cheese, plantain chips were fresh. I’ve had many Bandeja Paisas over the years, this was one of the best. Beans were so flavorful, chicharron crunchy and buttery, steak had great charred flavor, patacones also fresh. Only critique is the jugo de lulo wasn’t a true liquado, think it was a flavored syrup base. Overall highly recommend! ”
Christina Osorio“ The Colombian cuisine was exceptional. While the ceviche deviated from traditional Peruvian preparations, its flavor profile was outstanding. The arepas and bandeja paisa were equally delicious. Furthermore, the signature sangria was remarkable; however, those with limited alcohol tolerance should exercise caution. We recommend reservations because this place was packed. ”
VCR Rz“ Incredible food!!! A really fun atmosphere. I couldn't believe that everything was gluten free. The food came out hot and was clearly prepared with a lot of intention and care. The staff was great and very patient with all of our questions. Absolutely recommend!!! ”
Jessica Mattera“ We went for lunch and absolutely loved the maiz de la rueda as a starter (fresh corn with delicious creamy and flavorful sauces and cheese on top), the marinera arepa (best shrimp I’ve had yet in NO), and the dish of the day, a plantain smothered in beef and beans presented in a leaf boat. Service was friendly and timely. One person could probably make a lunch out of one arepa with a starter but if you’re hungry, you might want two! ”
